2023 Ipswich Field Archery Club Membership
The Ipswich Field Archery Club is a not-for-profit group and all funds from memberships go to assisting us in maintaining the grounds, repairing targets and general repair and maintenance of the club equipment.
This year for your benefit the Ipswich Field Archery Club aims to provide you with:
1. More shaded areas around the canteen area.
2. Permanent shading on the practice range
3. Permanent seating and tables for members to use.
4. New targets
These goals can only be met with your continued support and membership.
From this year on wards, for security reasons, a locked gate will be positioned at the entrance to the club grounds. Adult financial members can apply for a key to the gate so that they may have access to the grounds outside of club events. This has unfortunately become a necessity due to other members of the public abusing the use of the club grounds. When accessing the grounds members must use the sign in book attached to the club house- this is for insurance purposes and MUST be adhered to. Further information on this topic will be provided upon application.
This year IFAC has seven club shoots, a special event and two 3DAAA sanctioned shoots scheduled on the calendar.

Introduction
On behalf of all current members, welcome to Ipswich Field Archers Club Inc.
The Club is operated on a voluntary basis and is a not for profit organisation. We are a friendly Club with members from all walks of life who come together and share a common love of the outdoors and archery. The Club promotes the use of all styles of archery equipment capable of legal use in QLD and actively encourages family participation.
All funds raised from membership dues, shoot and tournament fees are spent to maintain the Club premises, targets and grounds as well as Club social activities. All members are asked to participate in regular working bees to maintain the grounds. The Club has a variety of necessary maintenance tasks that can be carried out by all members, no matter what their level of fitness or skills.
The Club is affiliated with the 3DAAA and Club members are required to be members of this association prior to being able to participate in Club shoot activities to ensure appropriate insurances are held. The 3DAAA shoot rules and protocols apply to Club shoots and members are requested to become familiar with these rules.
3DAAA (3D Archery Association of Australia) with which Ipswich Field Archery Club Inc are affiliated, promote shooting life-like 3D animal targets made from foam rubber. Targets are placed in natural settings at unmarked distances of up to 50 yards. There are 5 coloured pegs and many categories to cater for different age groups, and varying equipment levels. At a normal club shoot 40 targets would be shot, one arrow per target. In 3DAAA sanctioned shoots, a total of 50 targets over two days. Targets vary in sizes from a small fox to a large moose or Buffalo, and all have visible score zones. Highest score wins.
The club has practice butts in place seven days a week, set up for you to shoot at any time during the day. Club members (only) are welcome to come to the club at any time. We hold a club shoot (40 targets in 1 day) approximately once a month as well as 2 major tournaments a year
Within South East Queensland, NSW and Victoria there are many archery clubs also associated with 3DAAA. Many of our members travel to these other clubs to compete in competitions and enjoy a weekend away camping in natural surroundings. All IFAC members are welcome to attend other club shoots but you must present your membership card to receive the club member discount shoot fee.
Club Membership
IFAC membership fees are due every year on February 28th. Application forms are available at the club house or from the IFAC website ipswichfieldarcheryclub.weebly.com .
When you first apply for membership to the club there is a 1 (one) month probationary period. During this time you will be entitled to participate fully in club activities and can speak during general meetings. However, you will not be permitted to vote, propose or second motions at those meetings.
After the month you will become an Ordinary Full Member and will enjoy all privileges of the club. All members, over 18 years of age, will then be able to vote, propose and second motions at the meetings and will be eligible to hold office. After this period you will be able to apply for a key to the grounds which includes a $5 fee. Once you issued with a key to the gate you can enjoy the full privileges access to the grounds outside of club events. NB: only club members are permitted to use the grounds.
The committee reserves the right to terminate any membership if they deem it necessary to do so.
